As part of the fourth edition of his youth journey, Les Petits Sp\u00e9cimens<\/em> (The Little Specimens 4 \u2013 Books are everything to me), Le Signe invites \u00c9ditions du livre to design a playful and never before seen journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Directed since 2013 by Alexandre Chaize, this independent publishing house publishes artist books for children with a geometric, minimal and colourful aesthetic. In these works, the narration arises from the dialogue between the image and the manipulation of the book object. \u00c9ditions du livre defends a clear principle: \u201cThe book format is the substance\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This participatory exhibition literally invites you to jump into the books! The works have been redesigned as installations that unfold in Le Signe gallery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thus, the animal parade in <\/a>Zoo in my hand<\/a> welcomes children, the colourful garden of <\/em> Hello Tomato<\/a> turns into a card game on a human scale, while<\/em> Matriochka<\/a><\/em> becomes a giant hut. Large colourful walls recreate the abstract paintings of Dots<\/a><\/em>, Lines<\/a><\/em>, Colours<\/a><\/em>, Strips<\/a><\/em> and Spaces<\/a><\/em>. The Aquarium<\/a><\/em> fish are adorned with light colours and the Papillons imprimeurs<\/a><\/em> with polychrome wings create a mysterious colour scheme. Finally, Au soleil<\/em> and Dans la lune<\/a><\/em> reveal their cycle through subtle overprinting games. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the journey, children and adults alike are invited to interact with the facilities and participate in mini-workshops around the books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
